WHAT WE ARE ABOUT
We are about YES!
Yes is not a word people associate with much of today’s organized religion or what some consider “church”. Most people associate church and faith with NO. No, you can’t do this. No, you should do that. No, you can’t be that.
We believe that YES! is a central message in the Gospel of Jesus. At Father’s House, we affirm the YES! of the Christian faith. We say YES!
YES! You are created to be love, valued and not alone
YES! You can be free of addictions, doubt, fear, anxiety, loneliness, hopelessness, & illness.
YES! You are called to live a life that is full of incredible possibilities and opportunities.
YES! You can find healing for your hurts, disappointments, and your pain.
YES! You can intimately know your Creator. He wants to be your Father, you protector, your provider and your closest friend.
YES! You can invite God to be all that for you.
YES! We will walk with you in that journey, no matter where you find yourself today.
YES! There is a place for you in this world and in our church family.
YES! Church can be exciting, life giving, and life changing, not because it’s a program or an event you go to, but because it’s a living community of people who are being changed by the love of Jesus Christ and in turn sharing that love with others.
YES! We are a bit radical.
•But only if you think a church service should look more like a funeral then a celebration.
•Only if you think that faith is just an intellectual exercise rather then a live-life-to-the-fullest-at the-edge-of-your-seat adventure.
YES! You have the permission to simply check us out OR you can dive in with us as we explore the height, the depth and the breadth of the love of God which is revealed through Jesus.
YES! You can come as you are, we don’t dress up or dress down, and we don’t pretend we are perfect. Yes, you will be welcomed!
Our Sunday services are a celebration of the goodness of God that we have all encountered in our lives. They are geared to strengthen our walk and faith in God so that we can be better equipped to carry God’s Kingdom in us to the World.
We Are About Relationship
At Father’s House we believe that we are all broken people and at the core of much of our brokeness is a deep sense of disconnection and isolation. But we also believe that God is putting us back together again and oddly enough he uses others in that process. Because the cure to so much of what ails us is in finding true connection with God and with others.
Our Sunday services, our small groups even our outreaches give us actual opportunities to experience and develop connection with God. This primary connection becomes the catalyst for all human connection. Because of this we believe we are called to be connected with people in the way Jesus intended; to share the life He is giving us with others.
We don’t believe that relationships should be about finding people just like ourselves. We believe that what creates true meaningful and loving relations when we choose to connect and partner with others who are driven by the same passions that we are; who care deeply about the things that stir our hearts, our hopes, our dreams, and our God-given purpose! We believe that finding others who are in the same season of life as you (IE: in collage, young married) is secondary to what really connects us.
This type of connection is our goal at Father’s House. We are a diverse people from all kinds of different upbringing, ethnic groups and social status, but we come together because our heart beats with passions, dreams, hopes and purpose God has placed in us. We understand that it’s in relationship with others that we will accomplish those purposes. It’s in this kind of committed relationship that our wounds are healed and we experience joy and growth.
Every Week
During the week our church gathers in teams serve to the homeless and others in need and engage in times of prayer for our city. Our personal growth community small groups have seasonal themes and can last a few months while the service teams are perpetual. They also tend to focused on seasons of life, such a students, young men's, etc, or special interest.
We Are About True Change
There is no greater change then the change of a man’s soul and there is no greater power to bring on that change the to follow and live out the audacious claims of Jesus Christ.
Father’s House City Ministry is community of people experiencing personal transformation that living life as Jesus called us to live brings on. We believe that as we apply the message of the Kingdom of God to our lives that message changes us in deep and powerful ways.
We also believe that the principles of God’s Kingdom have the power to transform community, cities and culture. Jesus came to proclaim the good news of the Kingdom of God that is now coming to earth through those who take on it’s values. It would take up more bandwith then this site would allow to explore this, but here is just a drop in the bucket of what we see:
•In God’s Kingdom the servant of all is the greatest of all.
•In this Kingdom the last is actually the first, the least is actually the greatest.
•In His Kingdom humility is more honorable then pride or possesions.
•In His Kingdom mercy wins out over judgment.
•In God’s Kingdom meekness gives us unimaginable riches.
•In God’s Kingdom evil is overcome by good
•In this Kingdom when we move out in faith, anything is possible
Today the people of Father’s House are involving themselves in all spheres of influence from social work, government policies, education, arts and other spheres. We are serving those places, helping them where ever we can and we are learning how to apply the principles of the God’s Kingdom to bring about transformation in those spheres.
