40 days of drawing near to God

Father's House is going on a forty day focus on Awakening divine alignment, abandonment, agreement, anticipation, amazement and advancement. In order to further understand how we go about entering into an awakened life in God, please listen to Pastor Steve’s message ‘Awakening Alignment’ where he lays the ground work for the forty day focus on Awakening.

1. A 40 day fast.  
We are not fasting food for forty days but fasting distractions, fasting from the things that feed our fleshly nature to focus on what feeds our spirit and makes us alive in God and resisting the lies that of strongholds that the enemy has built up in our life. This fast is basted on James 4:7-8 Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Come near to God and he will come near to you.

During the forty days between January 18th and February 26th we will be doing two things
a. Drawing near to God.  We are going to get rid of things that eat up our time like TV, internet, books and replace the times we use for those things with drawing near to God by having focused times of prayer and personal Bible reading. We don’t mean you can’t watch the news, etc, we mean that you lay aside self gratifying things to focus more on spending time with the Lord. Pressing into His presence and going through the scriputures and of our daily focus.

b. Resisting the devil.  We are going to fight back against strongholds that the enemy as built up in our lives. Thoughts, pretentions, arguments and lies about God we have believed that are contrary to God’s word, God’s plans and who we are called to be in Christ. Pastor Steve’s message of January 17th, Awakening Alignment has tools you can use for defeating life dominating things like fear, doubt, lust through confessing the word and rebuking the thoughts. We will also post on tools for tearing down strongholds.

2. A 21 day Daniel fast. 
What is a Daniel fast? Download the Daniel fast document through the link on this page to understand this further. But simply put it’s eating healthy, it’s avoiding processed foods, refined sugars, artificial ingredients and meats (for complete list download the Daniel fast document). The reason for doing this is to focus on complete consecration. Consecrate not just our minds and spirit but also our body by denying things that are not healthy and cleansing it of toxins that are built up through bad eating habits. What we are doing with our spirit we are doing also with out body, which is the temple of the Holy Spirit.
